The Law of Attraction and The Blame Game
By Joanie McMahon PsyD (ABD)
Law of attraction is the law above all laws. Everything in our lives is based on law of attraction. It is like our manager in the sky, giving us what we think about and most importantly what we FEEL about.
Law of attraction principle #1 is - We are the Creator of Our Own Reality.
What most people say to themselves when they hear this are things like, I did not create my cancer, or depression or bankruptcy. What is true about this is that no person would create these kinds of things on purpose.
When I first heard that I was the creator of my own reality, it took me over a year to believe it. As I have become more knowledgeable about law of attraction, I have come around to agreeing and more fully understanding this statement. I can now see how this is true.
The blame game is rampant in our culture.
What in heaven’s name is that you ask? Good question!
The blame game is a term that I have coined to discuss the international epidemic that we are in as a global community. It is the practice of blaming others for what happens to us! Blaming others for what is happening to us is condoned and practiced everywhere.
If you pick up any newspaper or watch TV at all, you will instantly see what I mean. Most of our news is focused on some culprit that is responsible for something that has gone wrong.
When we firmly understand law of attraction, we KNOW that blame is a negative emotion. When we are in the negative emotion of blame, law of attraction is responding to us by bringing us more things that match that frequency or vibration. In other words, more negative things.
We cannot get to where we want to go when we are in the feeling of blame.
Let me give you an example. I recently watched the movie/documentary called Supersize Me. This documentary is all about blaming the fast-food industry for the weight and health problems in our nations.
While I too, would love to have companies in our midst that paid more attention to my desire to be healthy, blaming MacDonald’s or Wendy’s for my health issues is misguided to say the least.
The only reason that these companies exist is because we purchase their products and consume them. They would all either go out of business or change their practices if we decided NOT to eat their food.
The purpose of life on this planet is to be happy. It is to experience joy in all that we do.
Eating lots of food from places like MacDonald’s and Wendy’s does not feel good. It only takes a few of these meals to feel the negative effects that they have on our bodies. And yet, millions of people ignore this inner guidance and continue to consume things that do not feel good in their bodies.
The more we pay attention to being happy and feeling good, the less we will be drawn to foods that are not good for us.
Not paying attention to our bodies and how we feel is the real culprit here. As more and more of us take responsibility for our own well-being, and move to the true rhythms of our bodies, less and less of us will make these kinds of choices.
Many of us rely on so-called research findings to make our food decisions, when it would be so much wiser if we just listened to our own bodies to tell us what gives us good energy and what does not.
Who are some of the other so-called culprits that get targeted in the blame game? Let’s review some common ones: our mothers, our fathers, our banks, our government, our countries leaders, our schools, our teachers, TV, our children, Google and our neighbors. And these are just a few.
Over the next week pay attention to your thoughts and discussions to notice how you may be playing the blame game. Most people, after doing this, realize that they play this game a lot in their lives.
The one and only person responsible for your life is YOU. Paying close attention to your thoughts and emotions and if they are negative, moving them into a better feeling place is the work to do.
The nature of law of attraction is positive thoughts and emotions always gives us GOOD things and likewise negative thoughts and emotions always gives us BAD things. I focus in this article on the emotion of blame because it is so common.
Sometimes it can feel like we do not have control over our thoughts. When this is the case, it always means that we are so practiced in our present way of thinking that it has become habitual and chronic. Carefully deconstructing these thoughts into better feeling ones is the work that has to be done.
